Best of lists etc.

Pazu!

I can't be stuffed making whole lists for things so I'm going to just give my favourites for various things.

• Movie: Children of Men - 2006 had some excellent movies, this was totally the best one.
• Concert: Tie! The New Pornographers & The Go! Team (the latter at the BDO) - Awesomeness.
• Music: Muse - Black Holes and Revelations didn't hit me as instantly as Absolution but it grew on me, they've developed their sound a bit and they do a fair bit more with it than they have done before. In short it's brilliant and thinking of what comes next from them is scary. Also: http://youtube.com/watch?v=jV1bRfLHA3A Did you think Supermassive Black Hole sounded a bit disco?
• Christmas Present: I know it's probably rude to say that you like one persons present more than other peoples but my brother bought me a USB Missile Launcher so I don't care.
• Product at Starbucks: that hazelnut hot chocolate is delicious!
• Game: Totally has to be Guitar Hero, no question about that.
• Comic: DMZ - the first trade is great, can't wait to see how the story develops.

Okay let me give this a go

• Movie: Not a lot of great movies in 2006, not like the year of 2005 with Sarhara, Kindom of Heaven and best of all Serenity, but i think the clear stand out for me was V for Vendetta, i reckon a lot of people might not like this movie as it could hit a bit close to home, but i liked it a lot.
• Concert: Okay Eskimo Joe is tough to miss out on this one, as their concert rocked, but Augie March in Kings Park was bloody great day of music and i will find it hard to beat that concert ever.
• Music: This is probably a tie between Augie March - Moo you bloody chior moo and Eskimo Joe - Black Fingernails Red Wine, easily two of my top 5 album's ever, Muse was hard done by to miss out with their fine effort.
• Single: Give this one to Augie March - One Crowded Hour, probably one of the most haunting pieces of music i have ever heard, very relevant.
• Drink - As i was in perth this year, i'll give this award to a local brew here called Little Creatures, nice beer.
• Game - WOW has taken a lot of my time, so did BF2, but for orginality, i think Guitar Hero wins the day.
• FGI Event - Ivan's Cocktail party gets a special mention here, but doesn't list as my favourite event, mostly cause i dont remember much of it. Rather our camping trip down to Fortesque goes without saying as the best event of the year.
